KATHMANDU: An elderly man died after a jeep hit him in Birendranagar of Surkhet district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Nilo Kami (70).

The jeep (Lu 1 Cha 8287) had hit Kami in Birendranagar-6 at around 12:45 pm today.

Critically injured, he was rushed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Surkhet, where he breathed his last at around 1:45 pm.

Local police said they are searching for the absconding driver.
