Jhapa's rural municipality grants Rs 2m scholarship for technical HR development

BANIYANI, JHAPA: In a bid to push for the development of technical human resources, Haldibari Rural Municipality has granted scholarships amounting to two million rupees.

According to the Haldibari Rural Municipality Chairperson Rabindra Lingden, the scholarship was provided to 10 students to incentivize them to pursue education related to livestock stream.

He further shared that a memorandum of understanding was signed with Saraswoti Secondary School and Technical Institute based in Kamal Rural Municipality for providing space to run residential classes.

"We have set a goal to produce technical human resource in our rural municipality," Chief Executive Officer of the rural municipality Santosh Ghimire said, adding that two students each from five wards were selected for the purpose.

The students nominated would be offered education on agriculture, veterinary and fish-keeping.

The students after completing their education would also be provided with employment opportunities within the rural municipality.

The rural municipality is constructing a pond for fish keeping in 50 bighas land to materialise its campaign 'Promise of Haldibari; fish everywhere in Jhapa'.
