KATHMANDU, MAY 29
Rival factions of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal today threatened to expel each other. Both JSP-N Co-chairs Upendra Yadav and Mahanath Thakur issued letters seeking clarification to each other threatening to expel one another.
Yadav today served a 24 hour ultimatum to Co-chair Mahantha Thakur, party leaders Rajendra Mahato, Laxman Lal Karna and Sarvendranath Shukla to furnish reply to the explanations he had sought from them. Yadav had issued clarification letters to these leaders a few days ago seeking their response for ' indulging in anti-party activities.' Thakur has also sought clarification from Yadav for supporting Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba's bid for prime ministership.
Yadav said he was issuing clarification letters for the second time as these leaders did not respond to his first letters. He has reminded the four leaders that if their replies found unsatisfactory, they can be expelled from the party.
Meanwhile, Thakur also issued a letter today seeking explanation from Yadav within 24 hours. Thakur also warned him of expulsion from the party if he failed to give a satisfactory answer.
Earlier, Thakur had asked Yadav to clarify why he supported Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba's bid for prime minsitership and threatened to take disciplinary action against Laxman Lal Karna and Sarvendranath Shukla.
