Kaski district corruption control unit formed
Pokhara, January 6:
The District Corruption Control Monitoring Committee has been formed in Kaski to monitor corruption, delay and irregularity in the government offices in the district.
The committee coordinated by Kaski Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Regmi, has heads of the government offices in the district, representatives of the civic society and representatives from the business community as members.
The section officer of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in the district, local development officer, district attorney’s office, land revenue office, land mapping office, zonal transport office are its members and chief of the district police office is its ex-officio member.
Executive officers of Pokhara sub-metropolitan city office and Lekhnath Municipality, heads of Nepal Electricity Authority, Nepal Telecom, Water Induced Disaster Control Office, Drinking Water Corporation and Department of Internal Revenue are also its members.
Journalist Madhav Sharma, Kapil Nath Koirala of Consumers’ Protection Forum and Sulochana Sharma of the Administrative Reforms Committee and president of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajendra Kumar Lalchan, Dipal Shrestha and Sanjeev Koirala from the business community are the members.
The panel was formed after a meeting of the heads of the offices, representatives of the civic society and businessmen in the presence of the commissioner of the CIAA, Lalit Bahadur Limbu, yesterday.
