Kin receive body of Indian youth killed in Birgunj protest from Nepali authorities

BIRGUNJ: Kith and kin of the Indian youth who was killed in police action during a violent protest in Birgunj on the Nepali side yesterday have collected his body on Tuesday evening.

Ashir Kumar Ram's autopsy was done at the Narayani Sub-Zonal Hospital.

The deceased's kith and kin collected the body after the local administration agreed to prepare a document saying Ram was killed in police action instead of stating that he was killed in police action while attacking security personnel, according to Pradeep Yadav, Parsa chairman of Federal Social Forum-Nepal.

Representatives of the agitating Madhesi parties and Indian Consulate General's office in Birgunj were also present when the body was handed over to the deceased's family for his last rites.
