Kirant activists shut Dharan sanskrit schools

DHARAN: Demanding that the teaching of Sanskrit be banned, activists of Kirant Janawadi Workers Party (KJWP) padlocked two Sanskrit Schools in Dharan. They had also locked the Pindeswor Campus twelve days ago. Chandra Sanskrit Secondary School located at Dharan-16 and Pindeswor Sanskrit Higher Secondary School located at Dharan-14 has been locked. Teaching and learning activities of the schools have been affected due to the lock out.

Issuing a press release the party has warned not to open the school until the dismissal of Sanskrit education from the school. The release signed by Bijaya Lingden said that the party would take action if anybody resumed the school. Nevertheless, Shambhu Nepal, headmaster, Chandra Sanskrit Secondary School, said that the meeting of the school management committee would decide whether or not to resume the school. Nepal also demanded security for the staffer at the schools.

Meanwhile, a student at Pindeswor Sanskrit Higher secondary demanded that the government should manage environment for their study. He also urged the authorities not to politicise the educational institutions. Similarly, another student Laxmiraj Ghimire said he would continue his study if the government managed security.

The KJWP active in the eastern Nepal for the last four years has increased its activities in Dharan recently. The unruly activities of the party have unleashed terror among teachers, businessmen and others. The outfit has been troubling the locals of Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Ilam, Khotang, Bhojpur and Udayapur districts.
