KNMM threatens to sever ties with CPN-MC
Khotang, December 30
Kiranti National Mukti Morcha Nepal affiliated to the CPN-Maoist Centre today warned of launching a rebellion if the mother party abandoned its agenda of establishing identity-based autonomous province.
Organising a press meet on the eve of Morcha’s fourth national convention scheduled to begin tomorrow in Khotang, Kiranti Morcha warned of boycotting the polls and launching rebellion if the mother party distanced itself from its agenda.
Morcha Coordinator Durga Rai said they might sever ties with party if the latter did not work to ensure establishment of identity-based autonomous state by amending the constitution.
“If the election is held under the existing structure, we will launch stern agitation. The polls held under the existing structure will not be acceptable to us at any cost,” Rai warned.
Kiranti National Mukti Morcha was formed after merger between Khambuwan National Morcha and Limbuwan Mukti Morcha in 2003.
At the press meet, Rai said her organisation had collaborated with the Maoist party as both wanted to create identity-based autonomous provinces.
