Nepalaya, a book publication house, today launched Kul Chandra Gautam's memoir, the journey of a rural boy from Nepal's remote hills to the high office of the United Nations.
The book covers Gautam's journey from humble beginning to becoming the Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF and Assistant Secretary General of the UN.
In his book, the author was a witness to major world events unfolding at the turn of the century due to his tenure at the United Nations. He was fortunate to collaborate with many world figures.
"I am elated to bring this book, a memoir, to Nepalese readers," the author said adding that "This book would be helpful for the coming generation to learn from my struggles and achievements."
The paperback edition of the 472-page book is priced at Rs750 and available at bookstores across Nepal. Similarly, the digital copy is available in thuprai.com. And it is also being released worldwide through Amazon.com.
This is Gautam's second book after 2015's Lost in Transition: Rebuilding Nepal from the Maoist Mayhem and Mega Earthquake.
