Landslides displace families in Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha districts

BHOJPUR: With the monsoon at it's peak, landslides and floods triggered by heavy rainfall have displaced at least five families in Bhojpur district.

According to the Bhojpur District Police Office, five families of Dingla Bazaar in Shadananda Municipality-8 have been relocated on facing threat from recurring landslides since Saturday night.

Inspector Bhaskar Khatiwada of Area Police Office, Dingla, informed that the families were shifted as heavy downpour also caused damages to poorly built houses in the area.

Likewise, as many as 73 families at risk of landslides and floods have been relocated to safer locations in Sankhuwasabha district.

Mudslips and floods caused by continuous downpour as monsoon reached a high has been causing a great deal of physical and material harm in the country in the past few weeks.
