Laprak locals laud govt resettlement plan

GORKHA: Earthquake survivors of Laprak who have been living in temporary camps after being displaced from their residences are happy with the government decision to shift them to Gupsipakha.

There is no limit of happiness among the Laprak locals when the earthquake survivors got land to build their permanent residences.

The old area of Laprak is now insecure and precarious due to April 25 earthquake and landslides.

The lower land of the Laprak has seen big cracks owing to the earthquake and landslides.

The government has decided to provide over 18.32 hectares of land in Gupsipakha to 627 earthquake-affected households of Laprak after nine months of the devastating disaster.

People here have welcomed the government's decision to develop well-managed and integrated settlement plan in Gupsipakha, said Kisan Gurung, a local.
