KATHMANDU, JANUARY 13

Leader Ghanshyam Bhusal joined CPN (Unified Socialists) Party today. Bhusal was welcomed to the party by Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialists).

Bhusal was welcomed amidst a programme held in the capital, which was attended by party Chair Nepal, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, and other leaders and cadres.

Speaking at the programme, Nepal said the party would be reorganised.

Welcoming Bhusal to the party, he said that he would unite all honest communists of the country.

"It is not only about forming a party. We are looking forward to strengthening the entire communist movement in Nepal. Support of the leaders such as Bhusal has given us new hope taking the communist movement ahead," said Nepal Nepal also expressed his happiness over Bhusal's decision to join the CPN (US).

He said, "Old parties are not going to bring about any change with the same old ideas and principles. So our party has a greater role to play. With Bhusal's entry in the party others will also join out party."

Taking a jibe at CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, leader Bhusal said that he joined the party to revive the communist movement which was derailed mainly due to Oli's dictatorial style.

Bhusal also accused Chair Oli and his party of attacking the constitutional supremacy and multi-party democracy in the country.

Earlier, Bhusal had sent a proposal to CPN (Unified Socialists) for the reorganisation and transformation of the party.

Stating that the policies, ideas, principles, and approach embraced by the party match with Bhusal's proposal, the CPN (Unified Socialists) had requested him to join the party yesterday.

CPN-UML's former deputy general secretary Bhusal had quit the CPN-UML after he was denied a ticket in the November 20 elections.

Bhusal, who contested the election as an independent candidate for the member of the House of Representatives in Rupandehi-1, was defeated by UML's Chhabilal Bishwakarma in the elections held on November 20.
