Life starts returning to normalcy in Nawalparasi

KAWASOTI: Life in various areas in Nawalparasi district crippled by shutdown for days has started returning to normalcy as the market remained open and vehicular movement resumed on Tuesday.

Hariraj Wagle, chief of the Western Regional Traffic Police Office, said that vehicles along Butawal-Narayanghat stretch of the East West Highway operated today.

The Western Transport Entrepreneurs Committee said that public transportation resumed on the Butwal-Narayanghat-Kathmandu road. Likewise, the markets in Kawasoti, Bardaghat and Sunawal remained opened.

However, the District Administration Office has clamped curfew in the district headquarters, Parasi for seven days starting Monday evening in the wake of ongoing agitations by various groups, forcing the market to remain shut.
