Light aftershock recurs in Dolakha after a day

KATHMANDU: Just a day after a magnitude-4.6 aftershock, the National Seismological Centre on Wednesday recorded a tremor of magnitude-4.1 near the same epicentre in Dolakha district.

The magnitude-4.1 aftershock had its epicentre (27.66ºN and 85.95ºE) between Lankuridanda and Phusapheda of the district.

Another tremor was recorded at around the same location yesterday.

It was the third aftershock from the devastating magnitude-7.6 earthquake of April 25, 2015 that was recorded in the district in past one week.

On October 7, an aftershock measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the district.

The NSC has so far alerted members of the public about around 470 significant aftershocks since the devastating quake.
