LAMJUNG: Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa said that the incumbent government was making preparations to hold the local level elections in a single phase on the stipulated date.

Addressing a function in Lamjung district on Saturday, DPM Thapa said that there was no any need to harbour any doubt about holding elections on the announced date.

Thapa also claimed that all the preparations for local polls were almost complete and all the political parties were active on their poll campaigns.

RPP chair Thapa said holding all the elections at local, provincial and federal levels in the stipulated time was necessary for the restructuring of the country.

Local elections were necessary as the local people themselves would get the opportunity to develop their place and shape their destiny after the polls, Thapa added.

Assuring that the government would address demands of the Madhes-based parties, Thapa also urged all the political parties to actively participate in the upcoming elections.
