Locals donate labour

KHOTANG: Khotang-based Tawa Khola III micro hydro project, which had halted power generation for the last eight months, resumed operations from Tuesday.

Consumer committee secretary Lok Prasad Rai said local consumers had taken initiatives to build the project’s powerhouse, which were destroyed in the flood eight months ago.

He said 233 households donated their labour for 32 days and brought the project into operation.

The locals Khidi, Chhitapokhari and Mattim VDCs have been benefited after the 17 kilowatts project resumed power generation.
