Locals halt traffic in Dolakha
Dolakha, October 13:
Locals obstructed vehicular movement on Bancharema section of Sonam Chhiring Highway to protest the lack of adequate passenger buses on the route.
The strike left thousands of passengers returning to Kathmandu after celebrating Dashain have been stranded on the road.
A team of police arrived at the site in a bid to resume the traffic, but to no avail. Instead, locals clashed with the police, leaving three of them injured.
Four locals and three policemen including Sub-Inspector Krishna Bahadur Shrestha were injured in the clash.
On locals’ side, Ramesh Khadka, Prem Shrestha, Padam Kumari Thami and Kedar Karki were injured.
The local administration and the agitating group held talks to resolve the problem, but no conclusion could be reached.
