Locals in Pundring village compelled to live in jungle

MALEKHU: Locals of Pundrung village at Gangajamuna Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading district are compelled to live in a forest after high risk of landslide in their settlement.

The land in the areas has witnessed sinking holes and is under the threat of landslide as cliff over the settlement was close to crash due to rainfall, said ward chair Phaising Tamang.

There are 12 houses in the village and are under the threat of possible landslide. The locals have further reported it to the police demanding alternate settlement.

The settlement lies in one-day walking distance from the district headquarters.
