Lockout disrupts textbooks’ sale

Rajbiraj, June 10:

Sale of textbooks has been disrupted after stationery entrepreneurs padlocked Sajha Publications’ Rajbiraj office three days ago.

The entrepreneurs padlocked the office of the Sajha Publications to protest the lack of textbooks of Grades IX and X. Following the lockout, distribution of textbooks for other grades has also been affected.

The Saptari Stationery Entrepreneurs’ Committee has called the agitation.

“There is a demand of 6,000 sets of textbooks for Grades IX and X but there was a stock of only 1,000 sets of textbooks for each grade,” chief at Sajha Publications in Rajbiraj, Manoj Kumar Majhi said. “We have already sold 700 sets of the textbooks but sale of the remaining 300 sets was affected by the lockout,” Majhi said. The books will be available after three days, acting CDO Bashudev Dahal said quoting the JEMC.
