LPG cylinder explodes damaging house in Dhading
MALEKHU, DHADING: A house was completely damaged when a liquified Petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in a house in Galchhi Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading district on Thursday evening.
An old gas cylinder of Namaste Gas Company exploded in the house at Sirwani belonging to Baburam Timalsina. According to the rural municipality ward member Binda Adhikari, "No sooner had the gas cylinder brought and kept in the house than it exploded last night."
No human casualty has been reported in the incident since nobody was present in the room at the time of explosion.
Meanwhile, the house owner has demanded compensation, saying that it exploded itself, soon after bringing home from the local gas depot.
All goods including food grains and clothes present in the room were destroyed in the explosion, the ward chair Prem Tamang said and added that a step would be taken to examine all the LPG cylinders brought by the local depots and to return the old ones.
