Madhes shocked at former PM’s demise

The demise of former prime minister and incumbent president of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala has shocked the people in the plains.

As the person in the forefront of the democratic movement passes away, there are apprehensions that his absence will compromise the polity.

Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Rautahat leader Anil Singh rued the demise of the towering political personality, terming it as a great loss to the country.

“He was a great leader who sacrificed his life for the sake of democracy and his absence in the political scenario of Nepal will always be felt,” said Singh.

Similarly, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal central member Rameshwor Yadav called him a selfless leader.

“His contribution to the democratic movement in Nepal has been phenomenal and the same will go down in history in golden letters,” Yadav said.

Meanwhile, Congress party offices in Rautahat mourned the death of the leader by lowering the party flag half-mast.
