Madheshi students’ body changes name, flag
Kathmandu, May 13:
A two-day national gathering of Nepal Madheshi Vidhyarthi Front in Janakpurdham on May 12 and 13 decided to change its name to the Madheshi Vidhyarthi Morcha (MVM). Decision was also take to change the flag of the organisation.
Former minister Jaya Prakash Gupta and Bijaya Kumar Gachchhedar addressed the inaugural session of the gathering, a statement issued here today by its general secretary, Ajit Kumar Lal Karna, stated.
According to Karna, the closed session gathering of the MVM had also decided to cut off relations with the Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum and fight for an autonomous Tarai region with the right to self-determination.
The MVM has criticised the MJF claiming that the latter has deceived the Madheshi people by registering itself with the Election Commission as a political party, much before the Tarai movement bore fruits.
