Madi victims ask govt for compensation

Kathmandu, August 18:

Victims of the Madi blast today urged the government to provide compensation to the victims’ families and treatment to the injured. It may be noted that 43 passengers of a bus were killed and 70 were injured when the Maoists triggered a land mine blast in Bandarmude, Madi, on June 6. The Madi Bandarmude Victims’ Welfare Valley Coordination Committee blamed the government for failing to take much-needed steps to address the problems facing the blast victims. The authorities should provide compensation and relief packages to the families of those who died in the incident, said Ishwori Prasad Dubedi, the coordinator of the committee.
