MAHOTTARI: A three-year-old girl drowned in a pond in Dhamaura VDC in Mahottari district today.

Babika, daughter of local resident Badri Sada, while playing, happened to reach an edge of a pond belonging to neighbour Ram Kishun Sah and fell into it, Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai said.

Babika's father was away in the field and mother was busy with household chores when the incident occurred, local people said.
