Baitadi, August 19:

Chima Singh Karki, 51, of Dasharath Chand Municipality-12 was arrested and sent to district prison yesterday, 29 years after he was sentenced to a five-day jail term by a court.

Karki had been absconding since the appellate court sentenced him to a five-day jail term on Asad 1 of 2036 BS, police said.

According to another report, Parbati Devi Joshi of Srikot VDC-4 in Baitadi district was arrested yesterday, 14 years after she was sentenced to a jail term. A court had imposed a 32-day imprisonment for Joshi abour 13 years ago in a theft case. Police said, Joshi has been sent to prison yesterday itself.
