KHOTANG: A bus driver sustained serious injuries after he was attacked by an unidentified group in Alchhedhunga of Khotang district on Tuesday.

According to Raj Kumar Rai, General Secretary at the Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs (FNTE), Mahabir Tamang (32) was beaten by a group of three or four people last night. Tamang was found unconscious with injuries in his head, eyes and other body parts.

Rai also informed that Tamang has been sent to Kathmandu for treatment as his treatment was not possible at the District Hospital, Khotang.

The unidentified group that came in motorcycles also vandalised the bus (Ba 3 Kha 6032) en route to Solma from Diktel bus park, Rai added.

The search for the absconding suspects is underway, informed DSP Bidhya Nanda Majhi of the District Police Office, Khotang.
