Man held for swindling Rs 6.1 mln from youths
BARA: A school principal has been arrested on the charge of swindling millions of rupees out of local youths aspiring to be teachers and assuring them of appointment at various schools in Bara district.
According to District Police Office, Bara, Anil Kumar Thakur, 43, Principal of Primary Community School at Sagardina in Jitpur Simara Sub Metropolitan City-8 in the district was held on Monday.
Thakur, a native of Madhavnarayan Municipality in Rautahat, currently residing in Bidyanagar tole in Birgunj Metropolis-32, had collected Rs 200,000 to 500,000 in person from 20 youths in the promise of landing them teacher's job.
Police's preliminary investigation has revealed that Thakur provided fake appointment letters to his gullible targets, according to DPO Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanu Ram Bhattarai.
Thakur was presented before the court today and remanded in custody for seven days for investigation, DSP Bhattarai added.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the case is underway.
