MORANG: A local of Biratnagar-6 in Morang district has reportedly killed his brother by attacking him with a khukuri today.

Birendra Mukhiya (30) had fatally attacked Santosh Mukhiya (40) with the sharp weapon on his head, according to police.

Critically injured Santosh died on the spot, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yogendra Singh Thapa at the District Police Office, Morang.

Although mental retardation in Birendra is suspected as a factor behind the khukuri attack, further investigation into the case is underway, DSP Thapa said.

The attacker has confessed to fratricide with police.
