NAWALPARASI: A man was killed in Kawasoti of the district on Thursday night, reportedly by his brother-in-law.

The body of Bir Bahadur Tamang (48) from Budhaulikuna, Kawasoti-13 of the district, was found today with his throat slit by a sharp weapon.

Police suspected that brother of the victim's wife – Bhimlal Tamang, who is in his late 30s – murdered him.

DSP Parashu Ram Tiwari of the Nawalpur Area Police Post said police have nabbed Bhimlal and neighbour Nara Bahadur BK for further investigations and actions.

Neighbours told police that the victim would frequently thrash his wife under the influence of alcohol for not giving birth to any child.

That is why the wife's brother might have been infuriated, they surmised.

Further investigation is underway.
