Manakamana cable car service, which had come to a halt since Wednesday, has resumed regular operations from today.

The service resumed since 8:00 am today. It was halted for five days for the first phase of repair works.

Although it was announced that the service would resume from April 13, it was started a day earlier, said Deputy General Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan.

The cable car system, which has completed 23 years of operation, is being upgraded in three phases to convert it from analogue to digital technology.

According to General Manager Sherchan, upgrading works would be completed within two years.
