RAUTAHAT, NOVEMBER 20

CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today expressed confidence that his party would emerge as the single largest party in Tarai/Madhes in the next elections.

Addressing his party's programme at Katahariya Municipality, Rautahat, Maoist Chief Dahal reiterated that due to people's growing trust and craze, Maoists would emerge as the largest party in the next general polls.

Dahal slammed Prabhu Sah, who defected to the CPN-UML and commented that a rotten potato was taken out of the sack and the party had become clean and got stronger after his defection in the Tarai.

Dahal came down heavily on Maoist leaders who defected to the CPN-UML and said that they had demolished KP Oli's arrogance and defended federal republicanism and constitution.

"Oli was about to impose totalitarianism with support of some regressive forces. But, the five-party alliance was able to dethrone Oli and defend republicanism and the constitution," he added.

Dahal, who is also former prime minister, said that Rautahat had seen communist revolution in major events of the country. He said that Madhesi people and Madhes would always stand in favour of change and revolution.

"Rautahat district has played important role in overthrowing the Rana regime, Panchayat, and other feudal forms of oppression,"

Dahal stressed. Stating that Madhesi people had contributed greatly to major political achievements of the country, Dahal pledged to provide rights and opportunities to Madhesi, Dalits, Muslims and squatters.

In a different context, Dahal said that regressive forces had organised their general convention in Chitwan to finish off his political future.

He, however, expressed confidence that he would defeat the conservative forces. He also asked people of Madhes to punish the regressive forces in the next general polls.
