Maoists for authoritarian rule: Oli
BANEPA: Standing Committee member K P Sharma Oli said on Thursday that though President Dr Ram Baran Yadav had not made any move the UCPN-Maoist has been trying to impose authoritarian rule.
Inaugurating a book 'Purbi Bagmati Garjan' at a programme oganised by Bagmati Zonal Committee of All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), a sister organization of CPN-UML, Oli said that the Maoists had started an unconstitutional, apolitical and unethical process. He clarified that the President had reversed the Maoist move on the recommendation of the parties.
Commenting on the ongoing Maoist protest, Oli alleged that the intention of the Maoists has been to indulge in dispute. He said that they have to show a majority to form the government in the Legislative-Parliament and not from the streets.
Oli stated the need for the peace process and the drafting of the new constitution in the stipulated time, saying that if the Nepali people and the political parties do not resolve our problems, their credibility will come into question.
