Melamchi drinking water will be distributed in Kathmandu within few months: Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU: The Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Mahendra Yadav has said Melamchi drinking water would be distributed in Kathmandu within few months.

He also said that the 1600 metres of tunnel breakthrough would be achieved anytime soon as the work has been expedited lately.

Minister Yadav also said that Nepali Congress would forward President Sher Bahadur Deuba as PM Candidate in up coming polls, at an interaction programme in the Capital today.

"We will put forward our party president Deuba and urge voters to cast their votes to Nepali Congress in Provincial and Parliamentary elections," Yadav shared.

"Deuba will be next PM after the elections and there is unity within the party regarding Deuba candidacy as future PM," Minister Yadav informed.

Speaking on a different note, Yadav said his party is not satisfied with the outcome of the province number 2.

"We have won 40 seats which could have been much higher, however, due to internal dispute and wear organisational management has cost NC dearly," Yadav lamented.

"NC is happy for being the number 1 party in the province 2 despite not achieving overwhelming results in this third phase of local polls," NC leader Yadav said.

Meanwhile, the government is preparing for holding the provincial and parliamentary election on stipulated date.
