Minister vouches for government’s shelf life

Bhairahawa, September 30:

CPN-UML standing committee member and Water Resources Minister Bishnu Poudel today said that the present government would not collapse and would complete its full term.

Addressing a function upon his arrival at the home district for the first time after assuming the ministerial post, Poudel said rumours that the government would collapse soon had no logic.

“The coalition partners have trust on each other. A mechanism has been set up to run the government and all the decisions would be made within the parameters of the agreement,” Poudel said. He said the government would run until the new constitution was drafted and the peace process was taken to a logical conclusion.

Saying that the nation could develop just 651 MW of electricity in the last 100 years, Minister Poudel said he was putting up his best efforts to mitigate energy crisis in the country.

“Investors from around the world are approaching the government to invest in hydropower sector of the country. If we succeed in making investor-friendly environment in the country, we will not lack investments in hydropower sector,” Poudel added.
