DHANGADHI, FEBRUARY 5
A 17-year-old girl from Dogada Kedar Rural Municipality-7 who had gone missing has been found dead.
The teenager, who was a grade XII student at the Sanatan Dharma School, was found lifeless at the community forest on Thursday evening. The locals who had spotted her body informed the police.
According to the District Police Office Chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Prasad Adhikari, trained dogs that have been brought over from Dhangadhi will be deployed in the field on Friday to aid investigation into the case.
"The incident site has been sealed for investigation," DSP Adhikari informed. The police suspect that the girl was sexually assaulted prior to being murdered.
"Additional information will be revealed upon further investigation and post-mortem of the body," added the police.
