MJF wants poll date fixed soon

Upendra Yadav demanded the government to announce a date for the constituent assembly polls to save Nepal from becoming a failed state and a region fraught with uncertainty and instability.

Speaking to mediapersons before the beginning of the MJF’s scheduled central meeting

here, Yadav also blamed the government and the seven parties for deferring the CA polls.

Stating that only the CA polls could stabilise the country, Yadav said holding the polls was absolutely necessary for staving off conspiracies by vested interests.

He added that only the constituent assembly polls could bring about a federal, inclusive and representative democracy.

Yadav accused the seven parties and the government of disregarding the mandate that the people had given them and suggested the formation of a working government now that the validity of the present one had expired.

He added that the new government ought to take its mandate directly from the people.
