The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally to mostly cloudy conditions across the country today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely at many places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Some areas in the remaining provinces may also witness similar weather. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light snowfall is likely at a few locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.
Tonight, the weather will remain generally to mostly cloudy throughout the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with some areas in other provinces also likely to receive rain. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
There are also chances of light snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the high-altitude areas of the remaining provinces.
Currently, monsoon winds are active over parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and eastern Lumbini provinces. The western region of the country is experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. A low-pressure system formed around West Bengal, India, is also having a partial impact on Nepal's weather.
