BHOJPUR: Police nabbed an absconding convict, who was on the run for the last seven years, from his house in Biratnagar of Morang district on Thursday evening.

The arrestee has been identified as Naresh Mahto, s permanent resident of Biratnagar-7 of the district.

A team deployed from the East Regional Investigation Team had nabbed the man from his personal residence.

The Morang District Court had slapped Mahato with a two-year jail term and Rs 200,000 fine for his involvement in a drug-related case, on January 30, 2010. He was on the run since then.

The convict has been sent to Morang District Jail for execution of the sentence after being presented at the District Court on Friday, said police.
