PARASI: Some 5,000 hectares of forest area has been encroached upon by the local residents in Nawalparasi district, the District Forest Office said.

The forest areas in Sunawal, Basabasahi, Daunnedevi, Amraut, Bardaghat and other areas were encroached upon on individual and institutional basis for long.

Likewise, more forest areas are encroached in Sunawal, Daunnedevi, Bardaghat and Ramnagar sites in the recent days.
