DHANGADI: A mother and daughter duo were found dead in a hotel room in Silgadhi of Doti district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Shova Saud (24) and her 18-month-old daughter Karuna Saud of Chure Rural Municipality-1 of Kailali district, currently residing in Bhaktapur district.

Shova, who had gone to bed with her husband Prem Bahadur Saud (26) and her daughter last night in their room in local Srijana Hotel, was found hanging inside the room while Karuna was found dead on the bed by Prem at around 4:00 am today, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Heramba Sharma at the District Police Office, Doti.

According to DSP Sharma, police have taken control of the hotel room after Prem had reported the death of his wife and daughter with local police.

The family had been living in the hotel following his contract for constructing pavement in the area.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and police have already notified Shova's side of the family, said police.
