DHADING: Vehicular movement along the Prithvi Highway has been frequently obstructed due to mudslides near Galchhi Bazaar of Galchhi Municipality-7 in Dhading district.

Commuters heading to and from Kathmandu have been stranded on the road and compelled to wait for hours in jam before embarking on their journey.

According to locals, mudslides from above the road have continued to flow through the highway for a few days now affecting the vehicular movement.

Even the ambulances carrying patients to Kathmandu from across the nation have been affected.

"After seeing many passengers stranded on the road, we decided to mobilise dozers to clear the debris of the mudslide to resume traffic in the area," Galchhi Rural Municipality-7 Ward Chair Hari Khatiwada said.

One of the locals, Raj Kumar Rimal said, "Even the locals are at risk of landslides as cracks have appeared on land above the road."
