CHITWAN: A man who was charged with murder and remanded to the judicial custody in District Prison of Chitwan reportedly hanged himself to death in the toilet this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Hem Bahadur Thapa Magar (26) of Gundi-9 in Dhading district.

Magar hanged himself with nylon line used in making stools  of bamboo sticks (mudhas), according to the Chief of District Prison, Kamal Kafle.

Magar had allegedly poisoned to death Rita Bhujel (16) of Mangalpur in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City of Chitwan district at Kalash Hotel located in Pokhara Bus Park based in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-1 on July 10.

Three days after the incident, a team deployed from the District Police Office had detained Thapa from Dhading before they brought the case to the court, the Prison Chief Kafle informed.

It has been learned that Thapa's final court hearing was scheduled for November 21.
