Murdered Nepali Congress leader cremated in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT: Rabindra Shah, the Nepali Congress leader who was murdered by unidentified persons on Tuesday, has been cremated in Jajarkot on Thursday.

His body was taken to the Nepali Congress, Jajarkot district office from the Jajarkot District Hospital for paying final tributes.

Then, the body was taken to his house for his parents to see him rest in peace before being cremated at a nearby riverbank.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Student Union, Jajarkot chapter, has demanded that the culprits be made public by Friday or the Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi resign.

The District Police Office has arrested nearly a dozen suspects and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, a team led by SSP Mahesh Bikram Shah from Bheri Zonal Police Office based in Nepalgunj has reached Jajarkot to carry out investigations with the polygraph test, informed Chief District Officer Krishna Chandra Paudel.

While in evening walk, Shah was first stoned and pushed off a cliff by an unidentified group of people on Tuesday. He died at the incident site.
