NAC to be run under public-private partnership

Bhairahawa, August 7:

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung today said that it has been planned to run the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) under ‘Public-Private Partnership’.

Speaking at an interaction organised Gurung said: “We are planning to purchase a new aircraft; however, if we hand over the new aircraft to the existing management, it would be of no use,“ adding: “We will make purchasing the new aircraft deal transparent.“

He also said the condition of the NAC is deteriorating and it will improve in partnership with the private sector.

He said that agreement to this effect has been reached with the ADB to provide aid for developing the Gautam Buddha Airport as a regional airport and endorsement of the agreement will be held within two months.
