Indigenous film fest

DANG: In the first of its kind, an Indigenous Film Festival was organised in Dang with a view to promoting culture, tradition and arts of the tndigenous communities on Saturday. Thirteen films are being screened at the two-day festival held at Ganesh Cinema Hall in Ghorahi, according to the organiser. Santosh Batha, member of main organising committee, said the film festival would help disseminate information about indigenous communities.

Fund for university

BIRGUNJ: Fund collection for the proposed Birgunj University has gained momentum. Dr. Bhagwan Yadav, president of preparation committee, said Rs 20 million has been collected till now. The Birgunj Municipality has provided land worth Rs 5.1 million to build the university, he said. Fund collection has sped up as a feseability report stated that Birgunj was an appropriate location to establish the university.

Donation terror

NEPALGUNJ: Donation collection in the name of several underground armed outfits and political parties has terrorised government and non-governmental organisations in this mid-western town. Donation demand almost on a daily basis has panicked government agencies, said Chief District Officer of Banke Birendra Bahadur Baniya.
