NCP (NCP) co-chairs present party unity plan

Kathmandu September 12

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) co-chairpersons KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal floated their ideas and procedures for finalising organisational unification across the country today at the party secretariat meeting held in Prime Minister Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the two leaders floated policies, ideas and procedures based on the report submitted by General Secretary Bishnu Poudel.

Shrestha, however, did not disclose what ideas and procedures the two top leaders of the party had floated in the meeting.  General Secretary Poudel had prepared the report on the basis of his consultations with Oli and Dahal. NCP’s provincial and districts committees have not been formed yet even four months after  party unification.

The erstwhile CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre had merged on May 17 to create the NCP. Senior NCP leader Jhalanath Khanal said another secretariat meeting was called for tomorrow. He too declined to disclose the ideas and procedures floated by Oli and Dahal.
