NCP (NCP) leader Bhandari goes missing

BHADRAPUR (JHAPA): A leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has gone missing from Jhapa district since Wednesday morning.

Police have initiated a search for NCP (NCP) leader Dipak Bhandari after he went out of contact from his residence in Mechinagar-10.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, said that police teams have been deployed immediately after the information about Bhandari’s missing reached them.

He also said police are working to collect call details of his mobile phones adding that information is being collected from Bhandari’s partners involved in economic transactions.

Bhandari’s wife Gita said that he had set out to his college from home at around 9:30 am on Wednesday. “Since then, contact has not been established with him,” Gita shared. However, Bhandari left his two mobile phone sets at home.

Leader Bhandari was the chairman of the then CPN (UML), Mechinagar and also served as the chair of Dhulabari Jaycees. Bhandari holds multiple social responsibilities including the position of director at Himalayan College in the district.
