Nepal bans anti-Tibet protest

KATHMANDU: The government on Sunday prohibited anti-Tibet movement in the country. The government’s move comes just a day before birth day of the Dalai Lama, leader of the free Tibet movement.

The Home Ministry issued a notice asking all not to perform any activities against China’s Tibet autonomous region. Nepal, which is home to thousands of Tibetan exiles, also maintained that it never allowed the use of its soil against neighbouring countries.

Meanwhile, Tibetan activists said they were planning to demonstrate in the capital on Monday.
