KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 12
To assist international travelers amid the ongoing curfew and unrest in the Kathmandu Valley, the Department of Immigration has introduced temporary measures to simplify visa and departure procedures.
Officials confirmed that foreign nationals whose visas were valid through September 8 can now obtain exit permits and visa regularization without any extra fees, either at immigration offices or directly at departure points.
Authorities have also made arrangements for visa transfers for visitors who lost their passports during the disturbances.
Travelers carrying an emergency passport or other travel documents issued by their embassy will have their visas transferred to the new document under existing rules, ensuring a smooth departure.
