KATHMANDU, JULY 19
Veterinary doctor Sital Kaji Shrestha addressed the 2025 General Assembly of World Veterinary Association (WVA GA) in Washington D.C, USA yesterday.
Shrestha participated the WVA General Assembly on behalf of Nepal Veterinary Association.
Addressing the General Assembly, Shrestha acknowledged the works done by the Nepalese veterinarians and urge for the international collaboration to strengthen the workforce in Nepal, according to a press release issued by Shrestha. He said Nepal was ready to host any kind of WVA events in the future. Shrestha, who is also the General Secretary of SAARC Regional Veterinary Association, stated that SAARC Regional Veterinary Association would soon be the member organisation of WVA in the near future.
He also had courtesy meetings with president of the national veterinary associations of Sri Lanka, South Korea, the Philippines and Japan.
The GA was attended by people from 90 countries. Nepal became the member of World Veterinary Association in 1998. WVA was established in 1863. The next General Assembly of WVA is scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan in 2026.
Shrestha, is the Past president of Nepal Veterinary Association who led the organisation for seven consecutive years till 2020.
