KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 26

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 8,839 on Saturday as 101 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 976,771 while the death toll reached 11,934 as two fatalities was recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 955,998 with 555 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 5,152 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 2,239 were PCR tests while 2,913 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,409,905 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 54 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 155.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are 106 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
